SEP 21 2021: FINALLY!

Almost a decade ago, I started a lil hiphop novel called Nothing Crown just after the release of my first book, Long Lost Dog Of It. But a combination of Veterans transcriptions, sophomore slump, working too much, the fear, and the many obligations of running King Shot Press derailed that whole process. It took a long time to recover, to regain my confidence as a writer. Anyway, the story changed over that time. Because I was changing. And what exists now is my first new work in four years, and my first novel in seven years. I am Young Stepdad. This is my mixtape.

Many thanks to 11:11 Press for taking this project seriously and believing in me. It means fucking everything. I hope y’all dig the book. (And for those interested, I’ll have copies to sign and sell once I’m back in the States.)

Sex. Death. Depression. Ghosts. Teeth. Love. Hate. Youth. Family. Drugs. Art. Culture. Memories. Fantasies.

Now let it burn.
